What are they thinking!!!!
Customers, people like me, anyway want to have their questions answered, their needs met, quickly efficiently, and correctly. I don't want to listen to a 5 minute spiel on what is offered that I am not interested in, and everything that is possible from A to Z when I only want an answer to a simple question. In a day and age when time is precious, and everybody has very little to spare, the smart companies will figure out how to give customers what they want and need... effective customer service from a LIVE person that listens effectively, asks great questions when appropriate, is helpful and knowledgeable, and gives them the correct information without having to hand them off to two or three more people to solve the issue or answer the question.
Creating memorable experiences for a customer is as easy as that! I remember one of my favorite Ken Blanchard stories ( remember Ken wrote the One Minute Manager), was about a bag boy in a grocery store who wrote quotes and put them in each customers grocery bag. His line was so long everyday becuase customers craved his positive influence and that memorable experience.
